It has barely been six months since Game of Thrones prequel "House of the Dragon'' aired its shocking season Finale in October 2022. HBO execs however have not remained idle waiting for a second season. This Wednesday, HBO announced that they will be working on a new prequel of the series with "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms : A Hedge Knight".
The HBO Max twitter account announced, "A century before @GameofThrones, there was Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. Executive produced by George R. R. Martin, Ira Parker, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis, A Knight of the #SevenKingdoms: The Hedge Knight has received a straight to series order". Avis fans of the series simply got a video with telltale Game of Thrones Main Title score by composer Ramin Djawadi.
The new prequel follows the story of Knight, Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, about 89 years before the events of the Game of Thrones novels. This tells the twists and turns surrounding the knight who becomes the Kingsguard and the squire who becomes King Aegon V.
This announcement comes amid news that production of season 2 of House Of The Dragon has begun in the UK.
